Guidelines for Guests at Kay's Place
Thanks for your interest in Kay’s Place.
Here is some information to get you started on your
recovery trip.
Please let me know the exact time and date
of your arrival. If we have agreed upon dates for your
trip to Florida, it is important that you schedule your
trip and confirm your arrival and departure times and
dates within a day or two. We cannot hold dates open
indefinitely.
From one to three people will be scheduled
during your visit. In order to achieve an individualized
and effective program, a daily plan is developed during
the first session of the day. Your input is welcome. Some
flexibility is expected but more will be accomplished with
adherence to our daily plan. Free time will be scheduled
during the day for guests to complete assignments or for
rest and relaxation.
Your experience at Kay's place is an opportunity to
stabilize on the food plan, intensify involvement in 12
step programs, develop an appropriate continuing care
plan, identify relapse warning signs and barriers to
recovery.
The cost for this experience is $300 per
day to be paid at time of service. This covers room, food,
and program as well as one restaurant dining experience.
Arrival and departure times will determine length of stay
which will be calculated before you are scheduled. A
nonrefundable deposit of $300 will be due before
scheduling. We are unable to bill insurance companies.
*Before admission, please answer these questions: Do you
have any allergies or take any medications? What are you
not willing to do at Kay's Place?
You will not be in an inpatient treatment program but a
guest in my home. You will be asked to participate in food
preparation and clean up and to change bedding on the day
of departure. Clean sheets can be found in dresser drawer.
We do have a housekeeper who comes in once a week. We do
not have maid or maintenance services. Your cooperation is
appreciated.
We have arranged with a massage therapist
to provide massage for our guests for the reasonable rate
of $60. Advanced planning is required for this service.
For exercise we walk in the neighborhood, in a nature
preserve, on the beach or at the mall where it is cool.
Bring your walking shoes. Our health club is available
for those who qualify. Bring a bathing suit for pool
exercises. Note: if you are over 60, you will need a
physician’s permission to use the health club. Contact
Kay for a copy of the form needed.
Field trips that include shopping in health
food and grocery stores can be included for those who are
new to the food plan or who wish to learn to identify
appropriate foods for recovery.
Arrange to have abstinent food in your home
before departing for Florida so that you will have the
food at hand to maintain abstinence after visiting Kay's
Place.
NOTE MEAL TIMES: Meals will not be served at unscheduled
times. If you are traveling to Florida during mealtimes,
plan and pack an abstinent meal before leaving home. You
will be provided one travel meal upon departure.
